If, while streaming Kayo, the video is distorted or glitchy, or the picture quality is poor, please try the below troubleshooting steps:
- Check that your device is compatible
- Reboot the device
- Delete and reinstall the app
- Check your internet connection
- Clear the cache on your device
- Reduce number of devices connected to the internet
- If the content is live, switch to the Live Channel
1. Check that your device is compatible
Make sure you're using a compatible device, operating system or web browser. For a full list of devices and browsers that are supported by Kayo, click here.
Rebooting is often a simple fix for most issues as it helps to keep your device running smoothly and efficiently.
To reboot your device:
- Turn your device off and unplug it from the power source.
- After one to two minutes, plug it back into the power source and turn it back on.
3. Delete and reinstall the app
Deleting and reinstalling the Kayo app from your device will ensure you have the latest version. Your history is saved against your profile, so you won't lose any of your favourite shows or matches. For steps on how to do this, click here.
4. Check your internet connection or reboot your router
Try running a speed test to ensure your internet connection is stable enough. We recommend an internet speed of at least 7.5Mbps to stream.
If your speed test results are above the minimum requirement, you can also try rebooting your WiFi router:
- Turn the router off, and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 20 seconds, and plug the router back in.
- Switch the router back on (this can take about a minute).
- Try connecting to the internet again.
5. Clear the cache on your device
Cache is a software or hardware used to temporarily store information and data. When cache builds up and is not cleared, it can cause streaming issues. Click here for step-by-step instructions on how to clear cache depending on what device you have.
6. Reduce number of devices connected to the internet
Having multiple devices connected to your network can affect your streaming performance as they're not only sharing the same wireless network, but also sharing the same internet connection from your broadband service provider. Try temporarily disconnecting other devices from the internet to see if that resolves the streaming issue.
7. If the content is live, switch to the Live Channel
To access live and on demand content on Kayo, you select tiles that load the content. If you’ve clicked a tile for a live game and you're experiencing issues, scroll down to the Live Channels carousel where you can continue to watch the game live. For more information, click here.
