If you're experiencing issues trying to stream Kayo in 4K, follow the below troubleshooting steps:
- Check you're on a 4K-entited subscription plan
- Ensure your device is 4K-compatible and supported by Kayo
- Check you're using a 4K-compatible HDMI cable
- Ensure the title you're watching is available in 4K
- Ensure you have a broadband speed of at least 25Mpbs
- Disable Game Mode (PlayStation 5 only)
1. Check you're on a 4K-entited subscription plan
4K streaming on selected content is available for Kayo Premium subscribers.
Note: As well as a Premium subscription, you’ll also need to be using a device that's compatible with Kayo and supported for 4K viewing on Kayo. You can check whether your device supports 4K here.
2. Ensure your device is 4K-compatible and supported by Kayo

3. Check you're using a 4K-compatible HDMI cable
If you stream other 4K content on your device, this would indicate that you're using a 4K-compatible HDMI cable.
If you don’t stream other content in 4K, you'll need a HDMI cable that's 4K compatible.
4. Ensure the title you're watching is available in 4K
If you have everything you need to watch 4K, when you select a title that’s available in 4K, you should see a “LIVE 4K” badge on the program information/synopsis screen. The "LIVE 4K" badge on the program/synopsis screen is the key indicator to know you’re viewing in 4K.
Note: If you're watching a live channel and see a 4K image ingrained into the stream (like the below example), that is static and will not change, regardless of whether you’re successfully streaming in 4K.
5. Ensure you have a broadband speed of at least 25Mpbs
You’ll need a minimum broadband speed of 25Mbps to stream 4K content on Kayo. To check this, you can run a speed test online to measure the connection speed and quality of your broadband
Note: Your broadband speed can be affected by multiple devices connected to the internet at the same time.
6. Disable Game Mode (PlayStation 5 only)
If you're streaming on a PlayStation 5, try disabling Game Mode. This allows the TV's own smoothing system to operate.
