Note: Kayo is only available on the Australian App Store. If your Apple TV was purchased overseas, you’ll need to create an Australian Apple account first before you can search for it.
2. How do I watch Kayo using AirPlay?
Before you start, make sure you have:
- an iOS device running OS11 or later
- an Apple TV
- a strong Wi-Fi connection
- a TV with a HDMI port
To watch Kayo using AirPlay:
- Once you're logged into Kayo, make sure your Apple iOS device is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your Apple TV
- You can AirPlay while watching single videos but not in SplitView (unless you are using a Safari browser from a computer)
- Tap the AirPlay icon on your device
- The video will now AirPlay to your TV
- The controls (fast forward, rewind, pause, play, and key moments) will be operated from your iOS device.
3. Is 4K available on Apple TV?
Selected 4K content is available for customers on a Premium subscription with Apple TV 4K (1st generation or higher) running tvOS 15+. A broadband speed of at least 25Mbps is required to stream in 4K. For more information, click here.
Note: Apple TV 4K 1st generation model A1842 is not supported for 4K streaming on Kayo. For help with finding your Apple TV model number, click here.
4. What if I'm having trouble streaming Kayo on my Apple TV?
We recommend following the below troubleshooting steps if you're having issues streaming:
1. Reboot your Apple TV
- Using the remote, turn off the Apple TV.
- Turn off the Apple TV from the power point, and unplug it.
- Wait around six seconds, then plug it back in.
2. Reboot the WiFi router and run a speed test
- Turn the WiFi router off, and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 30 seconds, then plug the router back in.
- Switch the router back on (this can take about a minute).
- Try connecting to the internet again.
It's also worth running a speed test to ensure your internet connection is stable. We recommend an internet speed of at least 7.5Mpbs to stream.
3. Clear the cache on your Apple TV
- Open Settings on your Apple TV.
- Go to General, then Manage Storage.
- Highlight the trash icon for any item in the list and press the Touch surface.
The app and all of its data will be removed from the device. You can also delete the app directly on the home screen and download it to refresh the cache
4. Disconnect other devices in your home from the internet
If you're experiencing streaming problems on your Apple TV, it's a good idea to disconnect other devices that are using your home internet. Every device you can disconnect from your internet connection will help reduce streaming problems.
5. Close any other apps that are running
When you have many apps open simultaneously, it can reduce your streaming performance, so try closing any other apps you have open on your Apple TV.
To close an app:
- Depending on your remote, press the Menu or double-click TV/Home button to bring up the app switcher.
- If you're in the app, it will be first. Otherwise, swipe right until the app is present.
- Swipe up, and the app will slide off towards the top of the screen.
