Some Chromecast customers meeting required broadband performance may experience higher rates of buffering or pixelation during live view than expected. We are currently working on performance improvements to the streaming quality.
We recommend following the below troubleshooting steps if you're having issues streaming Kayo via Chromecast:
1. Ensure the mobile device and Chromecast are on the same WiFi network
2. Reboot the Chromecast
We recommend following the below troubleshooting steps if you're having issues streaming Kayo via Chromecast:
- Ensure the mobile device and Chromecast are on the same WiFi network
- Reboot the Chromecast
- Update the Chromecast built-in app (devices with built-in Chromecast only)
- Perform a factory reset
1. Ensure the mobile device and Chromecast are on the same WiFi network
- On your mobile device, open the Google Home app.
- Touch and hold your Chromecast's tile, then select Settings.
- Select Device Information, then Wi-Fi.
- Ensure your mobile is on the same WiFi network as your TV.
2. Reboot the Chromecast
- Unplug the power cable from the Chromecast device.
- Leave it unplugged for one minute.
- Plug the power cable back in.
Note: When you unplug the Chromecast from the TV’s HDMI port, it does not reboot the device. It must be disconnected from the power source in order to reboot.
3. Update the Chromecast built-in app (devices with built-in Chromecast only)
Note: This only applies to devices with Chromecast built-in technology.
- Navigate to Settings, then select Apps,
- Select See all apps, then Show system apps.
- Select Chromecast built-in.
- Here, you can see the app version. To update, navigate back to Home.
- Go to the Google Play Store, then search for Chromecast built-in.
- Select the Chromecast built-in app, then click Update.
4. Perform a factory reset
Chromecast with Google TV:
- At the top-right of your TV screen, select your profile then select Settings.
- Select System, then About, then Factory Reset.
Other Chromecast:
Note: This option is only available if you still have access to the network that your Chromecast was set up on.
- Open the Google Home app..
- Touch and hold your device's tile.
- At the top right, tap Settings, then More, then Factory reset.
