Interested in how much data you're using when streaming Kayo? Data usage will depend on a variety on factors such as:
- Your Stream Quality (SD, HD OR 4k)
- How long you're watching
- How many screens in use via SplitView
Note: Your data usage is affected by the factors above and not the type of Kayo access you have. This means, if you are streaming content via Kayo Freebies you will use the same amount of data while streaming content via Kayo Full Access if your video settings are the same.

How much data am I using?
When you stream sports and shows on Kayo, the amount of data used depends on things like:
- What the quality of your stream is (SD, HD or 4K)
- If the SplitView feature is being used

Control your data usage
To help manage data usage, Kayo gives you the ability to control your settings on our mobile apps.
First up, let's get to the settings:
- Log in to Kayo on your mobile device

Tap the
or swipe up on your device to open the Kayo Navigator
- Under 'My Kayo', select 'Settings'

Here's where you can tailor your settings in one of two ways:
- Video Playback
Control your mobile data by selecting:

Wi-Fi only
- You can restrict your data usage to Wi-Fi only
- This means you won't be able to stream when using mobile data

Wi-Fi + mobile
- This option allows data usage on Wi-Fi and mobile
- Video Quality
Control the quality of your streaming

Auto
- Based on your device and internet connection, Kayo will determine what quality stream will give you the best possible experience

Standard Definition
- Setting your video quality to Standard Definition will help limit your data usage
- It will stream at approximately 1.5mbps
- So for 1 hour of streaming in Standard Definition, you'll use approximately 500mb of data

High Definition
- Setting your video quality to High Definition will give you the best quality experience on Kayo
- It will stream at speeds up to 6mbps
- So for 1 hour of streaming in High Definition, you'll use approximately 3.25GB of data
